The Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdufatah-Ahmed, has disclosed that the Federal Government’s commitment to agriculture will help reposition the country’s economy for sustainable development.
The Governor stated further that youths in his state had already embraced agriculture through the “Off-Taker Demand Driven Scheme” he introduced.
He urged all local government implementation committees to embrace agriculture as an activity that can drive the economic affairs of their respective areas.
He disclosed the fact that the scheme was devised as a way to facilitate wealth creation, emphasizing that reliance on federal government budgetary allocation and the 10 per cent internally-generated revenue was no longer feasible to sustain any form of economic viability in the state.
