    Next Set of Millionaires to Emerge from Agriculture and Technology – Sogunle

    Dr. Demola Sogunle, The Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc has suggested the possibility that technology and agriculture may produce the next set of millionaires in Nigeria as a result of the viability and profitability of the two industries.

     

    Dr. Demola Sogunle, The Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc has suggested the possibility that technology and agriculture may produce the next set of millionaires in Nigeria as a result of the viability and profitability of the two industries.

    This was announced at Yaba College of Technology , (YABATECH), Lagos during the third annual Youth Leadership Series (YLS) organised by Stanbic IBTC Bank with the theme: “Techricuture – The Evolution”.

    He said that the Stanbic IBTC Youth Leadership Series followed the same pattern with  the bank’s annual business leadership series which is a platform established to engage and empower emerging business owners to become leaders in their various fields.

    According to Sogunle, the main objective of YLS was to educate the youth on how to make use of their potentials to become better business leaders and implored them to take advantage of technology to explore untapped opportunities in the agricultural sector.

    Meanwhile, the Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare encouraged the youths to be proactive and contribute to the development of the country and stated that the government would continue to invest in young people and set them on the path of success.

    During the panel session, Seyi and Seun Abolaji, Co-Owners of the Wilson’s Juice Company narrated how they started their lemonade business with little capital and how it has grown over the years.

    Other panelist included Miss Yewande Kazeem, Founder, Wandieville Media and Samson Ogbole, Chief Executive Officer, Farm lab who advised participants to identify problems and provide solutions to solve them.

    Dele Sotubo, Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Plc, implored participants to utilise the values and knowledge gained from the conference and reiterated the commitment of the organisation to supporting youth development.
