    Ondo Signs MoU With Malaysian Institute on Food Security

    The Ondo State government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute to promote food security and enhance the agricultural output of the state.

    While present at the event, Ondo State Gov. Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu observed that the partnership would not only benefit the state but also consolidate on the good relationship between the Malaysian government and the government of Nigeria.

    Expressing his excitement about the development, the governor further noted that his recent electoral victory would give the state enough time to execute the project.

    Gov. Akeredolu congratulated the Malaysian government for what they have been able to achieve worldwide when it comes to food security and agricultural development, adding that Ondo is ready to make the partnership work despite the failure of previous administrations in that regard.

    “We were convinced that when it comes to the issue of food, of Agriculture and when it also comes to the issue of Agri-businesses, striking a relationship with Malaysia was as important as any other thing and this is because we have been together for long.”

    NALDA Partners With Abia to Boost Agriculture

    He disclosed that during the state delegation’s last visit, which he led in Malaysia in April 2018, the state sought investors with the technical know-how and financial capacity to increase Ondo’s agricultural output and commercialize its agricultural practices.

    The delegation from Malaysia thanked the state government for the cordial relationship between both parties while also expressing its readiness to see to the success of the partnership with Ondo State.
