The Benue State Government is set to make provisions for land, clearing of the land and security to any private or corporate organization, willing to partner with the State.
This was made known by the state Commissioner for Agriculture, Timothy Ijir who stated that investors ready to come into the State to be part of the Agriculture production and value chain, will receive incentives from the government thus being offered an authorized environment towards getting access to land resources.
He said that such steps have been taken to bring complete resolution as well as to avert a crisis between the crop farmers and the cattle herders, and further to maintain peace as a result of its law and policy prohibition in cropping.

The Agric Commissioner said that the State’s verdure is appropriate for the growth of virtually every crop that anyone intends to cultivate, while the State government will make the environment favourable for the investors to do their businesses in the State.
Ijir, while assuring investors of their peaceful stay, said that the present administration has formed a law that has restricted the reasons for some of the clashes which often used to take place in the past.
He said that with the creation of the law, everyone is now mindful of their acts as the clashes between farmers and herders have drastically reduced.
Ogun State Government Urges Poultry owners to register their Poultry Farm
According to Ijir, the State government is looking into creating commercial farms in some parts of the State’s border regions and the areas where the environment is appropriate for rice and rest crops, believing that the process will also add to the reduction of conflicts to the maximum extent.
It should be recalled that the Edo State government had earlier this year provided inputs and technical support to the farmers, setting aside about 10,000 hectares of land under its Agripreneur Scheme with priorities on the cultivation of maize, cassava and rice across the state.
