    Bagudu Launches Mega Flour Mill in Kebbi

    Kebbi State Government has launched a mega flour mill at the Bulasa Industrial Estate near the state capital, Birnin Kebbi, in its quest to promote processing of wheat, sorghum, millet and maize into various flours, including animal feeds.

    The executive governor of the state, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu toured various sections of the factory accompanied by the former commissioner for Agriculture Barr. Attahiru Maccido, the Permanent secretary of the ministry, Mr. Joel Aiki and the Chief Engineer of the mill, Ayuba Musa Kudu.

    Governor Bagudu watched the machines in operation as he sampled the end products being milled in accordance with quality requirements, he was elated about the commencement of production and commended Maccido and his team for achieving such feat.

    He stressed that the mill would be self-sustaining with large profit intake, while describing the project as another testimony of the legacy of his administration on industrialization, economic prosperity, employment opportunity and wealth creation.

    Kudu pointed out that there is an independent source of power supply to the mill due to the amount of electricity consumption peculiar to such factory, as he highlighted end product of the mill to include flour for bread-making and confectionary, semolina, semovita, couscous and animal feeds.

    FG Launches NRDS-ll to Improve Rice Production

    Maccido on his own narrated that the flour mill is the first of its kind among the defunct Sokoto State – comprising Zamfara, Kebbi and Sokoto states, adding that the project would increase profit of farmers as wheat produced in the state and other parts of the country would be purchased as raw materials by the company.

    According to him, the qualities of various flours produced by the mill are of high quality, in order to meet the objective of exporting its products to other African countries and be competitive on the international market.
