    AFAN Warns Farmers Against Scammers Over N100,000 Grant

    All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) has warned farmers to be weary of scammers, while dissociating itself from a portal calling for farmers to register and claim N100,000 grant purported being giving by the association.

    All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) has warned farmers to be weary of scammers, while dissociating itself from a portal calling for farmers to register and claim N100,000 grant purported being giving by the association.

    This was made known through a statement signed by AFAN’s Director of Administration, Chief Chinedu Agbaji, the release was titled ‘SCAM ALART’, disclosing that the association is not in any way giving grant of N100,000 to farmers.

    AFAN as an association for farmers in Nigeria is made-up of what is different commodity associations that are formed based on the commodity that farmers produce as members. The commodity could be maize, cassava poultry, oil palm, snails etc.

    Therefore, AFAN as an umbrella association have members of commodity associations such as Snail farmers’ association, Poultry farmers’ association to mention a few. These commodity associations meet in groups and all come together to discuss matters related to the progress of the farmers.

    The statement informed members of AFAN that improving welfare of farmers through strategic business partnerships is underway and remains paramount in the association’s agenda, adding that channel of communication flows remain from the national to the ward level through the state executives, otherwise through the media signed by the NEC.

    “This is to inform the general public that All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Lead by Dr. Alh. Farouk Rabiu Mudi, that we are not in any way giving grant of #100,000 to farmers or opened a portal where farmers can register online for the said grant, we disassociates ourselves from the purported #100,000 farmers and non-farmers grant of National Farmers Association.

    “We want to assure AFAN Members that their welfare is paramount and we are doing everything within our capacity to improve it, just as we have started repositioning farming business in Nigeria through our strategic partnership and business relationships.
