The Chief Executive of Bank of Agriculture (BoA), Mallam Kabir Muhammed Adamu, at the inauguration of the Bank’s branch in Okene, Kogi State, disclosed that since the inception of BoA in 1972, over N1.4bn has been disbursed to Kogi State.
Mallam Adamu who was represented by the Executive Director of retail banking, BoA, Mr. Emmanuel Ameh, said of the N1.4bn disbursed to the state, the sum of N375 million has been repaid leaving a balance of N1bn.
As a result, the managing director has advised those yet to repay their loan to do so because failure to do so will deprive them access to more loans.
Adamu added that henceforth, the bank will take no chances ensuring that all loans collected are paid in due time.

He further said, “BoA owned and controlled by the Federal Government has been in the business of agricultural financing for over 45 years with its 136 branches scattered across the nation”.
He also seized the opportunity to lament about Nigerians favourable disposition to waste disposal that such practice portends serious danger to human health, environment and even retards economic development of the nation.
Moreso, Ahmed noted that private sector participation as well as Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) was needed to achieve proper waste management in the country because government alone cannot handle issues of solid waste management.
