    Cattle Dealers Deny Smuggling Criminals form North to Southern Nigeria

    The Amalgamated Union of Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria have dissociated itself from suspected invaders that were arrested by Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, inside trucks loaded with cattle, heading to Ondo State and other Southwest states.

    The Union disclosed this during a courtesy visit of the national executive members of the association to the Commander of Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, at the formation’s headquarters at Alagbaka, Akure, the Ondo State capital.

    The visitation was led by the National President, Dr Mohammed Tahir, where the national executives of the union made it known that they are not in support of illegal movement of the miscreants to the state in cattle trucks.

    The National President condemned the act while commending Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for ensuring security of life and property in the state, as he expressed shock towards the acts of the drivers who packed miscreants with the cattle, clarifying that they usually hired trucks at N600, 000 to convey 35 cattle only to Ondo State.

    The Commander of Amotekun Corps and Special Adviser on Security to Ondo State Governor, Akogun Adeleye, noted that the people from different tribes had been living together for a long time in the state and that the recent arrest of the invaders was not against Hausa, Fulani or any other tribes

    He declared that the same law that guides the yorubas in the state is same for other tribes, adding that nobody can attack anybody that is going about legitimate duty or business

    “We, Amotekun Corps, are here and we are working with other security agencies in the state, such as; the Police, Army, DSS and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) to ensure the state is safe”. Adeleye said
