    Federal Government Commends Ayade’s Agro-industrial Revolution in Cross River

    Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Sabo Nanono has described the agro-industrialization initiative of Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River as monumental and a reality that will take Nigeria to the promised land .

     

    Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Sabo Nanono has described the agro-industrialization initiative of Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River as monumental and a reality that will take Nigeria to the promised land .

    Nanono gave the commendation in Calabar while being conducted around the industrial park by Gov. Ayade for an on- the- spot assessment of the industries built under his administration.

    Nanonos pronounced that he was impressed by the agro-industrial revolution in the state and advised other governors to emulate Gov. Ayade’s drive in  agriculture, adding that agro-industrialization is an alternative means of revenue generation and employment for youths.

    During his assessment, the  minister  visited the rice and seedlings factory, feed mill company, frozen poultry factory, and garment factory in Calabar, as well as the ultra-modern rice mill in Ogoja and cocoa processing factory in Ikom.

    Gov. Ayade said his decision to invest massively on agriculture was aimed at creating a value chain for food production and increasing, employment and exportation  to generate revenue.

    Ayade declared that Nigeria must take advantage of the global crisis caused by COVID-19 to aggressively pursuing agro-industrialization, given the recent global fall in crude oil prices.

    The governor stated that he has invited President Muhammadu Buhari to come to the state and launch the Green Money initiative, an empowerment program devised by the governor targeted at creating more than 2,000 jobs for young people in the state.

    Ayade continued that though no specific date had been fixed for launching the initiative in Cross River the state, President Buhari had determined a period in which he would be visiting the state to inaugurate a new program aimed at creating millionaires in agriculture.
