    Harvestfield Begins Farmer Exposition as AFLASAFE goes Commercial

    Crop protection and treatment product, AFLASAFE is going commercial following the successes recorded on full field trials nationwide.

    Crop protection and treatment product, AFLASAFE, developed by the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), is going commercial following the successes recorded on full field trials nationwide.

    The nation’s agricultural produce planned for export, especially groundnut and maize as it was established, will experience reduction in rejection.  A private sector partner, Harvestfield Industries has been selected for its commercialization in Nigeria.

    Also, a programme on how to apply the product for effective motion of Aflatoxin in maize and groundnut has begun for farmers. Comprising of scientists from IITA, seven technical teams were constituted by the Federal Department of Agriculture (FDA), National Agricultural Quarantine Services (NAQS), Partnership For Aflatoxin Control In Africa (PACA) involving Agricultural Extension Officers from states and council areas in the six geo-political regions of the country.

    AFLASAFE is available for purchase at all the 18 field offices of Harvestfield and at Greenhouses (Super Warehouse) of Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, located in all the states.
