Lawal said that each segment of agriculture, from crop production to livestock and also aquaculture, serves as an escape route from the country’s economic hardships, as well as creating job opportunities, especially to the youths, but ironically, this Sector is not being maximally utilized till now.
On the part of the Government though, Lawal said that farming is expected to be made very attractive to the masses, particularly the youths, through the supply of modern agricultural facilities, inputs, training and many other related applicable configurations.
He further added that this has made the Lagos State Government begin some empowerment schemes, such as the Lagos Agripreneurship Programme, the Lagos State Agricultural Youth Empowerment Scheme and et al that set apart to train both youths and women to become shareholders in this Sector.
