The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) in collaboration with Lyrics Consulting Limited, trained youths and women selected across Ajeromi/Ajegunle Federal Constituency, Lagos State, on agro-mechanized poultry business.
Consultant for the project, Professor Boye Omole while speaking at the program held at Bola Ahmed Tinubu Hall, Amukoko, Lagos State, noted that participatory method of learning was used throughout the training to uplift the standard of living of the people.
Omole explained that the method allowed for close interaction among the facilitators and participants, with a view to achieving optimal result in terms of deep understanding on the part of the participants, to enable them put what they taught them into practical use.
Poultry Farmers Lament High Cost of Logistics, Others
The sponsor of the training who is the House of Representatives member representing Ajeromi/Ajegunle Federal Constituency, Taiwo Musibau, advised participants to make judicious use of the knowledge gained during the training to uplift their livelihood and also impact meaningfully on the country’s agriculture sector.
The training was conducted for five days to train participants on different areas of mechanised poultry business such as brooding, management practices, biosecurity and disease management, processing, value addition and digital marketing.

The Director-General of the NAQS, Dr. Vincent Isegbe, represented by Comptroller of Quarantine, ACQ Ebele Uzoma, appreciated honourable Musibau and consulting partner for the program while calling on the participants to take the training serious by paying proper attention throughout the training.
He urged them to put into proper use the knowledge acquired during the training, stating that it will no doubt have positive impact in their lives as individual and collectively as a community to mitigate the effect of poverty in Ajeromi/Ajegunle Federal Constituency, Lagos State
