NIRSAL Partners German Agribusiness Alliance on Agric Development

The Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) has gone into partnership with the German Agribusiness Alliance (GAA) towards establishing agricultural industrial projects.

The partnership is expected to foster strong network and resource sharing that will contribute meaningfully to agric development in Nigeria.

The NIRSAL Managing Director, Aliyu Abdulhameed while receiving the German representatives in Abuja, said the partnership with GAA can be seen as a prospective plan of action to accomplish inestimable benefits for NIRSAL and the Nigeria as a whole, towards creating agro-industrial projects.

Abdulhameed said that the coming together will have a great impact in Nigeria’s rural area, since the upstream segment of the Nation’s agricultural value chain is mostly control by smallholders in those rural communities.

He said NIRSAL will be able to hold on to the GAA’s intercontinental network in assisting the agricultural and agribusiness sector, by bringing in investment into Nigeria.

While the German Agribusiness Alliance (GAA)’s President, Frank Nordmann in his remark said that the union is targeted at giving the support required to boost the Nigeria agricultural value chain as well as nurturing healthy food for local consumption.

Nordmann said proposed project is centered on job creation for the unemployed, building farmers’ range on practices and the use of farm machines to help in the production of quality foods for exportation, as well as securing better agricultural yield to feed the Nation’s population.
