    Oyo Agri-Credit Corporation Sensitizes Farmers on Govt. Policies

    Oyo State Agriculture Credit Corporation is apprising resident farmers on the state government’s scheme to increase agricultural development and food security.

    During a sensitization visit to Deep Launch Factory in Ogbomoso and the Rural Community Development Centre in Awe, Jimoh Afees, chairman of the corporation, indicated that the aim of the visitation was to boost agricultural production in the state.

    Afees explained that the state government, under the leadership of Gov., Seyi Makinde, has a vision to expand Oyo’s economy through agriculture, adding that the corporation is ready to provide solutions to lingering challenges involving access to its various loan schemes.

    He also advised farmers’ groups to come up with and vigorously pursue realistic business plans and budgets.

    The Deep Launch Factory is a privately- owned agricultural processing center mandated with adding value to a variety of agricultural produce such as cassava.

    While engaging in an interactive session, farmers’ group representatives disclosed to the corporation that the farmers’ group was working presently on about 500 hectares of land, which they intend to cultivate this year.

    Oyo State Government to Create a Central Fish Market

    The corporation’s management team also paid a visit to the Rural Development Centre, in Awe, where the governor recently launched the Youths in Agribusiness Initiative, a program that has so far seen a significant number of participants.

    The chairman pledged a good exit program for the youths that are currently at the center, while reiterating the corporation’s support of youth employment in agriculture.
