    Ata Plus to include agriculture in ECF

    Ata plus Associate, Islam Elzayyadi, said Ata Plus Sdn Bhd, through its ECF programme is set to include agriculture in its Equity Trust Fund(ETF) platform says Islam says the inclusion of agriculture will enable young agropreneurs start and grow their businesses.

    ECF is a programme which allows the public to invest in start-ups and growing companies where in most cases, the investment is made in exchange for shares in the companies.

    Ata Plus Sdn Bhd, is a licensed equity crowdfunding platform in Malaysia and one of Malaysia’s first Online Equity Crowdfunding platform.

    Islam Elzayyadi, stated that the inclusion was aimed at helping young agropreneurs start and grow their businesses.

    Government Tasked to use Agriculture to Tackle Youth Unemployment

    During the pocket session of the SME Annual Showcase and Conference, Islam revealed that Ata Plus currently have six registered ECF platforms namely: Funded by me, CROWDO, The Crowd Plus Asia, Eureeca, Pitch In and Ata Plus and that he has plans to five more funders before year end.

    He further said: “Currently, 30 companies have registered under the six licensed ECF platforms in Malaysia and we aim to get another five more by year-end,”.

    He revealed further that from October 2016 to October 2017, the six licensed crowdfunding operators had raised RM26 million which had been disbursed to over 30 start-ups and companies registered with Ata Plus  nationwide.

    “The companies are from various sectors, including wholesale and retail, biotechnology, education, real estate, logistics, transportation and healthcare,” he said.

    Islam further added that the ECF programme allowed business operators to pitch their business ideas to potential investors and get them to invest in their business ventures.
