Managing director Paul Santus Ofana of Santuscom Agro-Hub Investment Nigeria Limited, producer of the popular Ogoja Rice and other allied foods, has distributed rice and palm oil in Abuja and Cross River State.
Ofana doled out 500 of 10-kilogram bags of rice and 500 four- liters of palm oil to aid vulnerable people just as other prominent Nigerians have begun donating their share amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement signed by the company’s media consultant, Ebriku John Friday, where Ofana revealed that it became necessary to donate and distribute the food items to the households most affected in order to help cushion the impact of the stay-at-home order.

He said: “We are all concerned about the plight of Nigerians, particularly those who do not have enough at this time. This gesture is to support the Federal Government and to ameliorate the sufferings of people while they stay at home.”
He advised that well-meaning Nigerians should join hands in supporting those who are less privileged through the provision of basic food items to keep them away from the challenge of hunger.

Also speaking was the group general manager of, Santuscom Agro-Hub Investment, Emaluji Sunday Michael, who disclosed that the food items distributed by the company costs N15 million.
Michael noted that the distribution of foodstuffs by the company is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, because people need food to stay alive. He added that people can reach out to the company for support related to foodstuffs.
Meanwhile, he revealed that the company has applied for N100 million to produce food for the masses from the N50 billion intervention fund provided by the federal government as a palliative measure for the COVID-19 pandemic.
