    FG provides motorcycle for Agric Extension workers in Bauchi State

    The FG through the Ministry of Agriculture has provided extension workers with 5 motorcycles to enable them to cover their extension areas and reach out to more farmers.

    The FG through the Ministry of Agriculture has provided extension workers with 5 motorcycles to enable them to cover their extension areas and reach out to more farmers.

    The State Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Muhammad Yusuf, handed over the motorcycles to the Permanent Secretary, Bauchi State ministry of agriculture and rural development, Bala Musa Lukshi.

    The state director said the reason for giving out the motorcycle was borne out of the need of Chief Audu Ogbeh (Minister of Agriculture) to strengthen extension services of Bauchi government under the Green Alternative Programme (GAP).

    The Permanent Secretary of Bauchi State Ministry of Agriculture, Bala Musa, commended the FG for supporting the state in its bid to achieve the food security objective.

    On his part, the program manager, Bauchi State Agricultural Development Programme (BSADP), Iliyasu Aliyu Gital was said to have mentioned that the intervention of the FG was a welcome development as it will help in covering a wider area and educating farmers on new farming technology and techniques.

    Mr. Bala Musa noted that agricultural development is key to the country’s overall socio-economic development of the country.

    In another vein, Sokoto state governor has engaged 80 Agric extension farmers to provide expertise to local farmers and to boost agriculture in the state.

    The Minister of Agriculture has assured that each of the 774 LGs in Nigeria will also get at least an extension worker that will provide farmers with relevant information as well as help them imbibe best agricultural practice.
